The quest for happiness seems to be a thing of this generation, of generations past and we can assume of future generations. We look for happiness in work, relationships, pets, shopping, hobbies... and many other things. How do we truly unlock happiness? There's an old saying do what you love and the money will follow, or do what makes you happy and the money will follow. So then, how do we find happiness?
The first step involves let go of self pity, the poor me syndrome. The world is not out to get you. As a matter of fact the world is full of rich, endless opportunities waiting for you to take hold of them and enjoy the fruits of your labor. Take action, if you thought yourself into a self pitying place or put yourself there, you can think yourself out of it and put yourself in a better place. Happier and more content.
Be appreciative and grateful for all that you have. This step coincides with the first step. Start thinking of ALL that you have. Start with the simplest of things, you have shoes on your feet and a roof over your head with food in the fridge. Make a list of all things you have and are grateful for, the little and the big things. Focus on these things as you go about your day and add to your list.
Take action do things that make you happy. Surround yourself with happy people. Positive people with good attitudes and goals. Set small goals, once they've been reached, reset and set more. Take good care of your body. Get the right amount of nutritional foods, water and exercise. Get plenty of rest and limit alcohol and caffeine intake.
These are just some of the steps one can take towards a happier life. There is more to come as the blog continues.

Market Value vs. Tax Assessed Value
Tax (Assessed) Value
is the estimated sales of a home in 2013, updated every 5 years.
Market Value is the
estimated price of a home compared to other properties around it.
Home owners and real estate
licensees may use the values placed on their properties from the Montgomery
County Tax Assessors Office to arrive at the present value of their real
estate. Statements from this office were
mailed to owners of real estate in this county around the middle of June,
2014. This information came on a small
card approximately 3 x 5 inches.
These values were arrived at by using market value of similar properties
sold in 2013. The previous property
values were arrived at from 2009 sales comparisons. This will be the same assessed value for
the next 5 years.
Many home owners think this new
value is the amount their real estate went up in one year. The value placed on the property this year
is a reflection of the increase in value over the last 5 years.
The best price your house will
bring today is arrived at by looking at similar properties that have sold since
Jan. 1, 2014 (market value).

Know Your Worth
Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. ~ Steve Jobs
Know your worth. Your ideas and your opinions are of value to you and you alone. Career choices and educaction decisions get you to where you are at today. Ask yourself if you are where you want to be. Are you doing what you want to be doing or are you conforming to the ideas and opinions of others?
Deciding for yourself what you want to do is your decision and yours alone. Sure you need to consider your family in your decision but turn to them for support and validation. Look into all your options. Do you want to work for yourself or for others? Are you a team player or do you like doing things on your own?
Entreprenuer or employee?
Thesaurus's list broker as a synonym to entrepreneur. Other synonyms include: agent, business person, financier, go-between, interagent, mediator, and negotiator. There are several other's listed, but definitely wanted to highlight the many words of and or relating to a broker/entrepreneur. Apparently the real estate industry has many avenues into being in business for yourself. Become a broker and manage a firm. Becoming an agent you will work under the umbrella fo the broker but you're still in business for yourself. Finding buyers and sellers is your business. Deciding if you are going to work commercial or residential is your business. When the the process starts and you have contacts now, you become the business person, you mediate, you negotiate... business, business, business.
Self-evaluation, self-understanding, knowing and or figuring out where you fit in, in the the real estate economy. Know your worth.

Attitude
Attitude
"The longer I live the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... church... or a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude... I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our attitudes."
You're extremely excited, your attitude is positive and enthusiastic as you walk into the Real Estate School doors and sign up for the 60 and 30 hour courses. You're going to do it. You're going to study hard and get good grades and earn your license to become a real estate agent! Keeping that attitude as you crack open the binder and begin the first section of the 60 hour prelicense course is crucial to completeing the WHOLE course. How you approach each section and the section quizzes determines your results. Keep an open mind. New Students, join our Discussion Classes at anytime/any section. Students can come to section 3 if that's what's scheduled even if you've just started the course.Keeping a good attitude and remembering why you wanted to become a real estate agent will keep you focused and on track. Negative attitudes hinder learning and will block creativity.
Take time to figure out how you learn if you don't all ready know. Is it audibly, visually, or hands on? Then apply your learning style to the 60 Hour course with a good, positive attitude. As adults, when we learn new material, we will be instantly putting ourselves on a learning curve. Sometimes the curve is short sweet and curvy other times it could be like a long rolling hill or a steep mountain curve. Real Estate Education is all about new terminology, generally the majority of the people that sign up for the courses have never heard these terms thus beginning each individuals learning curve. Keeping a good positive attitude is definitely beneficial to learning. Keep Calm and Study On.
